Bush Still Stupid and Dishonest

George W. Bush spoke up on torture yesterday.

“The first thing you do is ask, what’s legal? What do the lawyers say is possible? I made the decision, within the law, to get information so I can say to myself, ‘I’ve done what it takes to do my duty to protect the American people.’ I can tell you that the information we got saved lives.”

His own words, now as on so many previous occasions, reveal the stunning simpleton that occupied the oval office for eight long years.
The simple fact is that just because you have a lawyer tell you it’s OK DOES NOT MAKE IT LEGAL.
It’s clear enough that Cheney, Rumsfeld and Bush directed lawyers to write memos saying chickens can fly, water is dry, and if they want to crush the testicles of orphans for proof that Iraq has WMDs then that would be well within the law.
The fact remains that if your lawyer gives you bad advice, you are not shielded from prosecution by throwing up your hands and whining, “The lawyers said it was legal.” This is especially true when you instruct the lawyers to gin up a bullshit opinion to provide cover for actions you know full well are illegal. It is nothing more than the same lame excuses that blithered out of this idiot’s mouth when he was president to hide the gross negligence and malfeasance that defined the Bush administration from 9/11 to Gitmo, Katrina to Abu Ghraib.
If George Bush had a brain, he’d be ashamed of himself. Sadly, he’s stupid enough to believe his own bullshit. Sadder still, there are plenty of imbeciles who think the same.

When asked what he hopes will be his legacy, Bush replied:

“Well, I hope it is this: The man showed up with a set of principles, and he was unwilling to compromise his soul for the sake of popularity.”

A set of principles that he would not alter regardless of the facts, the law, right and wrong, or anything else. Would not compromise his SOUL…but would compromise the country, the military, the truth and anyone who even suggested that there might be alternatives to blithering down the path laid out by neocon hegemony.
George Bush should be investigated, charged and tried. There is no greater treason than to do the wrong thing for the right reason.

One Response

  1. When Cheney talks, there is no doubt he is lying his evil ass off and he knows exactly what he’s doing.

When Bush talks, (occasionally he says something you can actually translate into English) the more coherent he is, the less responsible for the content he is. He just says and does whatever he’s told and believes whatever he’s told. He’s like a ventriloquist dummy without the ventriloquist.

When Bush speaks, I usually think he actually believes the stupid bullshit he’s spouting, even stuff only a retard could believe.

    He is that retard.
