Fame Whore Brings Fake Tits to Jesus University

Liberty University, that bastion of Christian cult indoctrination education founded by Jerry Falwell, had a visitor!

From the Liberty University website:

Carrie Prejean, the reigning Miss California, made a special appearance at Liberty University’s Wednesday convocation in a sit-down interview with Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr., who asked her about the bold choice she made to stand up for her faith at the recent Miss USA Pageant.

After making it to the top five in the pageant, Prejean was asked…about her beliefs on the topic of legalizing same-sex marriage in each state.

Prejean responded…“I think that in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

Prejean finished runner-up in the pageant.

At Liberty, Falwell asked Prejean, a student at San Diego Christian College, how she felt on stage that night.

“As I was standing on that stage I felt so alone, I felt like I was up against the world. I saw Donald Trump sitting there in the front row, my family, my friends were nearby — millions of people were watching it on national television. I was so nervous …” Prejean said. “They instructed the question to Perez Hilton and he then asked the question, and from there I just knew that I was either going to please man or please God.

Falwell praised Prejean for standing up for her beliefs.

“To me, it’s scary that we’ve come to a point in this country where somebody like you is castigated for supporting the institution of marriage between a man and a woman — something that most Americans support — and it just shows all of us what our challenge is in this next generation to turn this country around. We deeply appreciate what you did and for standing up for what you believe,” Falwell said.
…(emphasis added)

I struggle to find a place to begin – some solid purchase that will save me from ranting off in a dozen directions at once. There is so very much wrong.

First of all, let’s look at Prejean’s full answer:

Prejean: “Well I think its great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be between a man and a woman. Thank you very much.”
(emphasis added)

Gee, I wonder why the folks at LU would have edited those two sentences.

Perhaps it’s because they are dedicated to ensuring that same sex couples never have the right to get married.

From touring Bible Knob schools and hooking up with the National Organization for Marriage (NOM – creators of the much mocked “Gathering Storm” video), it is clear that one of two things must be the case: 1. Prejean was being dishonest in asserting that she thinks “it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other, or 2. Prejean is being dishonest now in representing an organization determined to stifle that choice.

I’m not at all convinced that Carrie Prejean has any particular fervent or profound faith in Jesus…at least, no more than she calculates is necessary to enhance her vapid grasp on fame and sell a few more calenders…but let’s assume that she does. The question, then, is why would she contradict that faith by saying, “It’s great that we live in America where you can choose same or opposite!”

Leaping down a quote, the bit about how she “knew” she was either going to please man or please God. Let’s pay some attention to that.
Does anyone really want to make the argument that Carrie Prejean set out to become Miss California, and then Miss America, in order to please God? This is a woman who had breast implants…apparently Jesus digs preternatural silicon jugs.

Clearly, Prejean was trying to milk both ends of the cow at the same time. One can almost hear the calculations whirring around behind her purple eye-shadow: It’s great to have the choice – we live in America where we are free!…but Miss America should be conservative, home and hearth, traditional family values…I was raised with Jesus.
And so, she blurbled out some thoughtless crap about Freedom and God that she hoped would please everyone. Everyone who had a vote. And God never crossed her star-struck noodle.  She expected praise for both her Traditional Values and her determination to support Freedom!  Freedom Fries!  Fake Tits!  America is so gosh darn, great…we’re free and can choose same or opposite but I was raised right and think womens is for the mens!  *wink*

Leaping back up a quote – the bit about how she felt so alone…as if it were her against the whole world.
Jumped up Jesus on skis…does anyone buy that bit of window dressing? Here’s a girl who has bikini strutted her way in how many pageants? Miss California…with fresh new tits and a saucy step…in the finals of the Miss America contest. If Carrie Prejean felt anything at that moment, it was that she was on the verge of being handed all the adulation and reward that she had for so long deserved.
No doubt she felt something like “Me vs. The Whole World” when people started calling her ugly on the inside, stupid, backward and wrong.
How could it be wrong? She only said what she thought Miss America should say! Freedom!  Traditional Values!  Fake tits, goddamnit!!!
And then…THEN it became a question of faith…and how she shouldn’t suffer for standing up for Jesus! The fallback position when the sales pitch failed.  Martyr in evening gown and mascara.
“I didn’t do nuthin’ wrong.”

Prejean has since whined that when she is asked a question, she doesn’t sit on the fence. She says what she thinks, and she thinks that’s a good thing, and she ought not suffer for that either…blah blah blah.
Another…let’s be generous…variance from the facts.
She was asked if same sex marriage should be legal – why or why not?
Her response was at best contradictory and misleading.  She asserts that the freedom to choose is great, but she thinks it should be between a man and a women.

Sure…Freedom to choose is a great thing. The question was should everyone have that freedom?
What Carrie Prejean believes about marriage is her business. She was asked whether the legal right to marriage should be extended to same sex couples. She did not answer the question.  Her actions subsequent to losing the pageant indicate where she stands on this – she is opposed.
If we take her at her word now, then her claim to answer questions honestly, consistent with her beliefs…to not be a fence-sitter…is a facade.
If she is as certain, faithful, open, honest and forthright as she claims to be – these, she asserts, are the very qualities she displayed and for which she’s being punished – then she should have answered the question with something like, “No, the legal definition of marriage is between one man and one woman. That is keeping in line with the Christian faith in which I was raised and I do not favor extending the institution to same sex partners.”
She didn’t.
She tried to suck and blow at the same time.
That she now claims to have merely spoken her opinion and done so in concert with her love of Christ is disingenuous and a crass exploitation of religion for the fame fake tits could not deliver.
Crass exploitation of religion is nothing new, but I can’t think of any with fake tits so central to the plot.

  1. I’ll eagerly be awaiting the Hustler spread, the handful of guest appearances on TV shows, the drug addiction, the re-hab, the removal of the fake tits, the “shocking inside story” on Oprah, followed later by the rejection of the Hollywood Lifestyle and a return to Jerry Falwell Jr’s show and a short lived career in movies like “Left Behind 12”.

  2. Left Behind 12! In which Kirk Cameron utters the memorable line, “I have to spread the word to my grandchildren! If I don’t tell them, who will? There’s no such thing as a Wolvermoose so there MUST be Jesus!!!”
