WTF? Albino Body Parts?

Sometimes the news confuses me.

Dar Es Salaam – A man has been arrested in southern Tanzania on suspicion of attempting to sell his albino wife to Congolese traders.

In a spate of gruesome incidents over the past few months, albinos have been kidnapped, killed and dismembered for witch doctors who use their limbs and organs to make lucky charms.

Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, speaking to the Tanzania Albino Society (TAS):

“It is utterly stupid for some people to believe that albinos have magic powers and their parts can make them rich.  People should be provided with education to understand that it is only through hard working that they can prosper in life and not through selling albinos’ body parts.”

Is this a shift in the education or the economic policy?  Are we getting new text books on the subject, or is the government going to levy a tax on albino parts to make it so unprofitable that the business model dies?

Is he suggesting that selling albino body parts is the easy way to prosper?
What the fuck is the difficult way?  Who’s got it tougher than a serial killer/butcher of albinos?
I understand that in Tanzania, an albino probably stands out like a zebra with rainbow stripes…but how many of them can there be?  It’s not like they’re wildebeests or something – great herds of albinos wandering about, is it?

And LUCKY CHARMS?  My grandmother was a bingo addict – would play 36 cards at once and point to the numbers I missed without breaking stride.  She had a little troll doll for luck.  She won often, but there’s no telling how much she could have made if she’d had an albino spleen.

I just don’t know what to make of this.  It raises more questions than it answers.
I wonder what Johnny and Edgar Winter are doing.
Johnny Winter’s liver – now there’s a lucky organ.
