McCain/Palin – Ban Abortion

I called it.  I just didn’t realize they’d be sneaky about it.
When I predicted the content of Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech, I said that she would come out publicly on the extreme fringe of pro-life.  I expected her to toss up something like, “Barack Obama says it would be okay to murder my perfect little baby, Trog!”  (Tug?  Sprog?  WTF is the squab’s name?  TRIG!  That’s it.  Next one to be named Calc, followed by Alg and Quadratic.)

John McMumblefuck had previously stated that, while he takes no particular interest in the niggling details of policy – he’s too busy letting everyone see him putting country first! – he supported exceptions in cases of rape, incest and the life/health of the mother.  That is to say, McFloppy stopped short of a total ban on abortion.  But McSpineless never had a position on any damn thing that he would not spin 180 degrees in order to gin up a win.  Agent of change, indeed – McCain changes his platform twice, sometimes three times every day depending on who he’s talking to or what his GOP masters tell him to think and say.

Crooks and Liars:

In reaching out to his party’s religious right, John McCain famously reversed course on overturning Roe v. Wade. But as the Washington Post noted Monday, McCain in a May interview still claimed to support exemptions for abortions in cases involving rape, incest or the life of the mother:

My position has always been: exceptions of rape, incest and the life of the mother,” the senator said.
When asked if he would encourage the party to include them in the platform, he replied, “Yes,” adding: “And by the way, I think that’s the view of most people, that rape, incest, the life of the mother are issues that have to be considered.”

As it turns out, not so much. As predicted, McCain flip-flopped on his position in 2000 that the Republican platform should allow the abortion exemptions. His hands-off approach resulted in a hard line GOP abortion platform that not only did away with those most minimal of protections for women’s health, but called for that total abortion ban to be enshrined in the United States Constitution:
“We support a human life amendment to the Constitution, and we endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment’s protections apply to unborn children.”

And so, while I got the prediction wrong that the Creationist Moose Mama Wasila Woman would give a shout out to those religious zealots who would force every pregnancy to term under any circumstances, the plank appeared in the platform almost as if by magic.  That should go a long way to drawing those Hillary supporters over to the GOP.  If it’s one thing women can really get behind, it’s the government controlling their bodies.
Another tell:  While reaching out to moderates and independents under cover of the Palin nomination, the GOP cranks their fascist shit three notches to the right, sucking up to the very religious base that knows Bush gets bombing instructions directly from Jesus.

It is time to toss these slimy, underhanded liars out on their collective Red State asses.  Gimpy McMumblefuck:  Change you can predict – just read your bible, you Godless scum!  God bless America.

  1. Abortion is bad.
    We need more soldiers.

  2. LOL@ John McCunt

Fear not, good citizen. Under a McMumblefuck – Moose Mama adminstration, all unwed teenage girls will be impregnated and forced to carry those babies to term. There will be ungodly numbers (well..maybe Godly numbers) of poorly educated crotch spawn with little employment opportunites outside the room & board offered by the US Military (privatized and contracted out to Blackwater).
And, since they will be so numerous, we will not have to waste all that silly money on flak jackets, armour, etc. Now if we can just get them to eat the dead and wounded, we can stop buying food, too.

  3. I believe McCain and the Republicans may have had a breakthrough. With the help of his “trophy” running mate, Sarah Palin, they’ve locking up a very huge and powerful voting block known as “America’s dumbest people.”

It’s time to worry Democrats, stupid people are against you.

  4. Trog! LOL…watch Obama on Stephanopoulous. You can’t trip this motherfucker up. Not for a second.

  5. Looking forward to seeing the clips. Still, though, I’m not sure being more suited, more educated, more capable and just more more is enough to win this election.
Racists, rednecks, and stupid people ginned up behind another Rove distraction, selling lies, distortions and one-line bullshit talking points – Liberal, elite, foreign, Muslim, Hussein, Hamas. terrorists…
This shit is far from over.
